It has come to our attention that the internet is being used as a medium to put up tracks from Janet’s upcoming album, Damita Jo, before its release. I would strongly advise you against searching for these tracks and downloading them – wait until the album release! I know that you’re probably desperate to hear the songs, but why download one song when you can wait for the whole album in its entirety, just the way Janet wants us to listen to it!

That is so not cool,ppl who go around releasin tracks without a singer’s permission get on my nerves, I mean I know it feels like we’ve been waitin 4ever but still I feel like doin’ stuff like that is stealin’ I rather wait and buy it, these artists work really hard on theyre albums the least we can do is support them and not steal from them. Just because you download a cd doesn’t mean you aren’t going to buy it. I’m not going to download the songs just because I wanna be surprised, but, usually when I download a cd, that means I’m gonna buy it eventually.The stars say "please don’t burn my stuff" but then again, who wants to pay 20 dollars for one cd! Over here, the first week, the cd will be about $11, but the second week, the sales range to about $15 to 22 dollars. Some cds are $30 dollars. I won’t burn the cd for you DAZ. I’m gonna fight temptation "All For You."

Some of you guys sound like the FCC. The more downloads available, the more promotion and exposure jan gets. True fans will download the music for their computer AND buy the new album or two!
I listened to about a 1-minute sample of the album Β just to know what itΒs gonna be like, and I canΒt stand the suspense! But I still have the album on pre-order, and IΒm gonna buy everything she releases. But I can see why some people might have a problem with downloading. I only ever do it rarely Β for songs I know IΒm gonna buy anyway.
i haven’t downloaded anything cause i haven’t found anything. however, if i did find an opportunity to download the album, then i would take it, but that wouldn’t mean i wouldn’t buy her album. i plan on buying two regular sand one explicit version to show my support as a fan.

Well its funny how I come on THIS site and instantly I heard a clip of "Thinkin’ About My Ex" song off her Damita Jo cd. I am from the USA, they haven’t even released "I Want You" yet. An NONE of the singles(Just a Little While or I Want You) are out in the stores yet. Yes, I saw on Kazaa her WHOLE album, but I didn’t dl any. If I want to dl, I will dl. I plan to buy 3 of her new cds anyways, and see her sign mine. The people who should be getting in trouble are the DJ or who ever is putting her cd up on the internet too early! OK…said my peace..OUT!

yea so I REALLY want to hear Damita Jo, but out of respect for Janet, i was not invited to any listening parties, so i feel i dont have the privelage to hear these songs yet until March 30th. Just wait guys, im sure it will be WELL worth it! π
You can look at this a couple of ways.
TRUE fans will buy the album whether or not they download pieces of it beforehand–who wants only 5 tracks out of 22 ??
Has Virgin done enough promotion? Has our girl been treated right? Are JALW and IWY enough to get people excited to buy the album? If you’ve got a friend on the fence, maybe they need to hear some more to cement their decision to purchase the album. CDs aren’t cheap and people want to know ahead of time it they are worth it.

Yall know what? I went to the Janet Jackson forum, and they said you can listen to three songs in full, so I had clicked on it. I wasn’t gonna listen to more than 30 seconds, but it asked if I was ready to download the full song of "truly" and I clicked yes. It started to download, and I aborted it. I guess I’ll have to follow my husband DAZ’s wishes and not download it. Can’t wait for the album.
